Upgrading the site

Its been eight years since we launched the Fernan Clan web site. It was my first major web site project and have done a few since then. Three years ago, we decided to upgrade the site to use a content management system (CMS) so that updates and new content can be posted by Diday and other contributors using web forms rather than relying on me or someone else to edit the site directly (by messing around with HTML, etc.). I tried out a few CMS applications and started migrating the content from the old Geocities-based site to a PHPwebsite-based one. I also secured the domain name fernan.info. For several reasons, my work was suspended on migrating the site until December 2007 -- I apologise for the delay. At any rate, by 2007 I decided to use Drupal instead (http://drupal.org) as I have used it on other web sites and found it to be more flexible, powerful, and extensible than other CMS products. This Drupal-based site still needs lots of work -- more recent content needs to be added, a more attractive look-and-feel (theme) is needed, and more contributors are welcome. I hope that more family members collaborate on the new site.
